Good product bad install.

Guided by a favorable evaluation by Consumers Report magazine we chose both the 7000 washer and dryer combo. Both are working well as we get used. Having purchased the extra installation for both I was very disappointed in the dryer installation. With a direct vent from the lower back of the dryer I will never understand why it was installed with 8 feet of vent piping that curled several times to fit the 1 foot straight length that was actually needed. A fire hazard. Thankfully I checked and repaired the dangerous install. I cant believe I was charged $30 for this.

Unhappy so far with my purchase.

I have had my dryer less than a month. It makes a loud rattling/grinding noise that is not normal. I have already had the repair guy out and he could not duplicate the noise or find an issue. I played him several videos of the dryer making the noise at various times and he admitted he had never heard that noise before. The dryer has also cut off two or three times after about three or four minutes of being on and chimed as if it was finished with the cycle. I called LG for the second time to seek repairs and was told I would get a call from a repairman and have received no call back. I am very disappointed in the product and service thus far as I was told LG is a great brand. Apparently I purchased a lemon.

I like the dry except for two things. 1. Is there is no lite in the dryer. My old had a light and that was really nice. You can then see the clothes in the back of the dryer. 2. I dont like the sensor. I do my clothes on delicate and you can not adjust time to run longer. Thing come out damp in places but if the dryer senses dry its done after its time and you cant redo it. It will only run for 5 minutes more and thats it. Other than that the dryer is nice.

Got a lemon

Purchase the dryer June 24 it was delivered June 27. Worked great until July 27 when it mysteriously just quit working completely. I went through the manual did all of the suggested possibilities such as unplugging checking the breaker etc. I called Home Depot and I was given a warranty number to call. I spent a total of two hours getting the runaround between the two different warranty groups I was bounced back-and-forth between. I got absolutely nowhere. Finally that evening I pulled my Home Depot receipt out yet again and saw that there was an appliance hotline number. I called that and was able to select LG and then spent another 45 minutes to an hour running through all of the same questions again to be told that they would in fact go ahead and send out a Sears repair person. Five days later the repair person showed up told me that the dryer was a lemon. They have no idea why didnt Home Depot just take it back and give me a new one and determined that the electric panels in the dryer were faulty and not functioning. The parts were ordered and he was scheduled to come back to install them seven business days later. In the meantime I called Home Depot. Let them know what happened and that it really had quit working within the 30 day. Period and was told that it was at the discretion of the manager who was not going to be in until the end of the week. I did get a call back from the customer service supervisor who told me that it was completely out of Home Depots hands and that even if it had quit working three days after purchase I would still have to work through the warranty company.

Purchased a few weeks ago and I am loving it I am a huge fan of the sensor dry. It makes me feel more economical as to setting a dryer on timed dry. However there are times that I use the timed dry for a small load. It also has the refresh option as we all know sometimes we leave that load in overnight and its doesnt get folded right away. The best part is that it is way quieter than my previous dryer.

Repair needed after 6 months

I have had this drier just over 6 months. I was happy for the first few months and then it started making a grinding noise. I contacted LG and received excellent customer service and communication. They had parts ordered and sent someone to fix it. Turns out this dryer was manufactured incorrectly. There was a washer in the wrong place causing things to be off and warping 2 rollers and needing the drum replaced. The felt had folded also. I am concerned for the future of this dryer and feel I should have been sent a new one instead. All of that to say the dryer does dry well. There have been times while using the sensor dry that things are a little damp but there is a timed dry option also. I was happy with LG service but not happy I needed major work in such a short time. I did not get a discount or special price for my review.

Several Drying Modes

We have used this dryer for about 2 weeks. Out of the box performance is excellent. I very much like the different drying modes available especially Air Dry. I also like the lint filter location. This dryer doesnt seem to generate as much lint as our previous dryer. I am only giving 4 stars because after only 2 weeks I cant comment on reliability.

This dryer is a joke. NOT A FUNNY ONE EITHER. It should not have an Energy Saving rating. For one month the energy saver worked fine on Normal setting then all of a sudden it didnt work at all. The clothes came out colder than they went in and just as wet. The heat never came on and the dryer remained cold. I called for service and they ran some diagnostics and told me that nothing was wrong and so the vent must be clogged. I didnt believe that as Id had it cleaned only months before. I told them I wanted a repair person to come out and check it. They scheduled one to come to the house. When he came he told be that that was the way the Energy Saver worked. If I didnt want to use it to just push the energy saver button off and the dryer will dry so in other words there was not an energy saver that worked on the machine. I found this hard to believe and called LG back. They sent another repair man out who told me the same thing. I couldnt believe it. Apparently their diagnostics dont find this problem or they are just putting that button on the machine to get an energy rating sticker.. If it didnt work when I first got it I would have just assumed this but since in worked for about a month I dont believe it at all. I was told if I called for service again Id be charged. So the moral of the story is If you want and energy saving dryer dont buy this machine.

Finally replaced the dryer that was probably installed in my condo 22 years ago. Got it fixed once and finally decided that it was time. Im glad that I got that model although I thought it had WiFi but it doesnt. Outside of that it performs like a champ. Like the Permanent Press cycle as it leaves the clothes slightly damp so I can hang them up without wrinkles.

I bought this dryer a month ago and the dryer has not worked properly since day one. It takes a very long time to dry and the sensor dry will shut off way before the clothes are anywhere near being dry. Weve only been able to use the speed dry option to get the clothes dry but it will take 5-6 sessions to get the clothes dry or longer depending on how large the load is. Weve asked for a technician to come check the dryer since its under warranty and we havent had any luck getting someone to come look at it.

I bought this last month and would not do so again. Whoever thought making a normal cycle blow only cool air should be fired. The cool air cycle should be optional not a preset. Also I should not have to find my cycle setting every time I go to start the dryer makes this too complicated. And I really dont like that most of the cycles are preset and cant be modified.

LG DRYER IS WORKING FINE --IF INSTALLED CORRECTLY

We purchased a matching LG washer and dryer from Home Depot on May 15 based on positive Consumer Report ratings and recommendations from friends. The installation of the washer and dryer took place on June 15 due to a backlog. For the first six months both appliances operated exceptionally well. However on December 27 we encountered an issue with the dryer it was working but there was NO HEAT.. Despite numerous attempts to contact Home Depot and LG we discovered that the dryer had been incorrectly wired during installation. Specifically the ground wire was not in the correct position. This resulted in the electrical heater and electronics being compromised as later determined by an LG representative we were able to connect with. After this discovery we contacted LGs repair service and they successfully repaired the dryer several days later. We have since used the dryer five times and everything is now working as expected. While we are very satisfied with the dryer itself we wanted to bring to your attention that the installation issue we faced impacted the functionality of the appliance.

Nice dryer but difficult to install side way.

Order this product mainly because it could be side vented either left or right. However I spent hours to open the left hole so that the bent can come the side way. You could not knock it out with a hammer which will only dent the outside metal. I have to drill holes around the cut lines and use different kind of snippers to cut it off. See LG could improve this and make the connection easier for consumers. A less deep dryer would even be better to fit tiny closet.
