Auto keystone is a deal breaker

Auto keystone does not exist in installation setting. The calibration is limited 1.5-3meters. The projector keystone will resets itself every time when turned off. This made the projector almost unusable. This is with firm ware 3xxx. Is this fixable?

Missing the Most Common Projector Feature Ever

BUYER BEWARE: YOU CANNOT FLIP THE IMAGE VERTICALLY ON THIS PROJECTOR I bought this projector with the idea of putting it on the dresser across from my bed so I could project things onto the ceiling. It arrived and I set it up the picture looked great but with one problem... it was upside down when I looked up at it from my bed. I didnt think much of it because pretty much every projector in existence lets you flip the image vertically so that you can position it in any orientation and still have everything right-side up. So I went to the PJT Modes to change it to Front/Ceiling mode but there was one problem - there was only a Front and a Rear option and the Rear option flips the image horizontally. I then thought well since it rotates upward maybe I can rotate it all the way back and spin the projector around. Nope it stops rotating after 180. I swore I was missing something theres no way a $1000 projector wont let you flip its image upside down so I contacted support after reading the manual back-to-front 3 times over. I asked support what I was missing and they sent me a YouTube link to some random guy showing you how to flip the image vertically on an Epson projector told me it wasnt possible and immediately ended the chat. I was pretty much floored at that point. Even though the PJT Modes menu literally states Set your projectors position to flip the image vertically or horizontally there was no vertical option. The user manual even states This function turns the projected image flips horizontal. under the PJT Modes section so its absolutely not possible. I cant believe a simple orientation like this would be overlooked by LG for this much money. I was truly so excited to use this thing but I just cant justify the price for missing such a simple feature that would allow for so many more viewing orientations. Such an enormous disappointment

Wants to be great but flaws hold it back

This is an updated review from my previous submission in which I gave the projector 4 stars. This review is submitted on 9/11/23. I purchased this projector on July 11 2023 and received it on July 13 and it worked for about two weeks before I had to send it in due to the Auto Focus Adjust being turned off without the ability to turn it back on it more-or-less locked itself off. I figured I would send it in and have it fixed with no issue. Sent it off on August 1. Received the repaired product a couple of weeks later August 21 and after a software update to version 03.00.12 the same day I received it guess what... the Auto Focus Adjust locked itself off and I had to send it in again. Sent it off August 22. Received the repaired product after a couple of weeks September 9 and now the Auto Focus Adjust is incredibly slow or non-responsive depending on its mood. I have shot images from different distances at different angles at different screens and walls and it just does not want to work the way it needs to. On top of that the Auto Focus only works if I stick my hand a few inches in front of the lens but the image will not focus back in once I take my hand away. I contacted LG Support asking for a refund and guess what... I cant get one because I am out of my return window one month - despite having a one-year warranty. Ive only physically had the projector for 20-21 days. I told them I am not satisfied with my product but because I sent it in to have it repaired and the tech gave it the OK they will not issue a return/refund. So I basically am stuck with a unit I do not want and have to hope the next software update doesnt break again. I have to hope that the Presidential Liaison Team gives me a call back in 24-48 hours from September 11 so this issue can be resolved. Outside of that the picture quality is good and looks great in a dark room and I connect the sound to a bluetooth speaker without any hassle. I also use a Roku stick to get around the projector not having certain apps but thats not a big deal to me.

Captivating experience

The LG cinebeam projector is out of this world. I cannot imagine how I watched large screen tv without it. First off the setup was a breeze straight out of the box. The unit itself isnt heavy and is all setup to plug and play. The only thing needed is to connect the power to the wall and connect external speakers if needed it has small speakers built in if you prefer to leave the external speakers out of this set-up and put the batteries in LGs magic remote awesome for navigation and scrolling. The projector is now ready to go just make sure that you have a white wall the is fairly smooth. I chose my bedroom wall with no screen needed and the picture is surreal. The cinebeam then turns on and asks for first time setup. Once you go through all the easy to use setup steps for setting the language region time and WiFi the projector self adjusts the size of screen and the focus without lifting a finger. There is of course an Auto focus button Incase it doesnt do a decent job focusing which is hardly the case. I had excellent experience with the focus and the picture size feature and had success just letting it do it automatically. There is a button on the remote if needed bottom left. Now for the picture the quality is phenomenal in beautiful 4k UHD with no issue. I streamed some new movies and shows and all looked beautiful. My kids especially loved watching their cartoons and animated movies on this as the quality is very visible. Excellent picture without any lag or distortion. I love that you can use this projector even in daylight as that has previously always been an issue for most projectors. Of course if you opt for fully shaded windows like I did even clearer and brighter picture. There are different modes for the picture such as cinema sports etc to adjust the color setup but I enjoy the cinema mode the most. Now to the sound the sound is ok not very loud even at highest volume setting so I highly recommend external speakers but if you need to watch something quickly or where bulky speakers just wont do the built in speakers will do the job. On the side of the projector it does give option for connectivity to USB a/c and HDMI/arc which is a plus. It does also have Bluetooth built in incase you choose to share from your tablet or phone. Moving on to the WebOS interface excellent except its somewhat limited this is the place I wish LG could improve this projector by including more mainstream apps like Hulu and Netflix which oddly were left off of this one. Disney and prime included but would be nice. Nonetheless streaming from my phone or computer with Hulu for example solves this problem but would be nice if it was built in. Maybe in a future software update?. The projector hardware itself is adjustable up and down and sits well on its stand. The cable for power is long enough to reach most outlets with ease. There is a manual power on/off button up top of the unit and left/right/up/down controls up top as well. Loads and navigates very quickly through its built in processor and very smooth magic remote control through the software/app selections. Overall very well made excellent quality and definitely a projector that is worth the picture quality in todays line up of 4k projectors. I cannot wait to watch my movies on this nightly. It has changed my view on home theater experience especially when I connect this in my media room.

Perfect for the whole family

My family and I have had movie nights on our theater setup with this projector and have had a great time. The colors are nice and bright and picture is crystal clear. The real fun was taking it into my daughters room and watching her favorite shows projected on the ceiling. She got a total kick out of that. Its really easy to setup and use and the sound is serviceable on the go if youre either using it in a small room or are sitting fairly close to the projector itself. The only downside for me is that LG OS is missing some of the streaming platforms that we use the most often but we were able to circumvent this by casting to the projector from our phones.. Definitely reccommend

Phenomenal picture

Affordable 4k projectors are finally here and Im happy to upgrade my old 1080p projector. While I cant mount this the same the flexibility of the projector head allows me to take this unit to friends houses and watch movies much easier. The auto focus is quick and adjusts to most ranges. I wish the power brick was built into the bottom of the unit but for now I have it zip tied together for ultimate portability. The ui is familiar from my older lg tv which is was easy to use. Pair this with a chrome cast and you have full access to anything from your phone or laptop if LGs apps dont already let you. The built in speaker is ok but I pair this with my lg Bluetooth speaker and turn on bass boost mode and then put it in front of us and that is sufficient on the go. The white design seems durable and overall Im very happy with it.

Good portable projector with some minor flaws

This projector gives a great image and the HDMI port works great with a 4K Roku streaming stick. My only gripe is the Auto Screen Adjustment. It will go from having a perfect-sized image on the screen to suddenly being at a drastic upward-looking angle for no reason. Then when trying to adjust the image manually I cant get it to look perfect like the ASA had it before. It would be nice if the ASA set the image then asked if the image was Ok then held the image until you chose to reset the ASA. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed with a future update.
